Colombia boss Jose Pekerman insists he is not worried by Yerry Mina’s lack of minutes at Barcelona and will have no hesitation selecting him.
The central defender joined the Catalan giants from Brazilian giants Palmeiras in January but has only featured in five La Liga games since.
“He may not have played many minutes, but we are fully confident in him,” Pekerman told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“When you move to a giant club you may not be playing every game, which is not ideal, but you learn a lot from those around you and he has a massive future in the game.
“He will want to play and I know he is hugely enthusiastic, and he fit into our system very well.
“He has shown confidence and happiness within the team and we believe his move to Barcelona has benefitted his development.
“We have no doubts he has enough quality to be selected in our defence.”
