Valencia agree Gameiro terms?

Valencia have reportedly agreed terms with Kevin Gameiro but still need to negotiate a fee with Atletico Madrid.

According to AS, Gameiro is ready to earn ‘almost €2m’ a season less than the €4.8m he currently earns at Atleti and commit to 2021 or 2022 with Valencia.

The newspaper explains the Frenchman is ‘one of the strikers Los Che boss Marcelino likes the most’, thanks to his ability to play on the shoulder and link up play.

The 31-year-old is expected to make way for Thomas Lemar at Wanda Metropolitano this summer after just seven goals and 11 starts in La Liga during the past campaign.

However, Gameiro may not come cheap as Los Rojiblancos paid Sevilla €30m in the summer of 2016, while Valencia are not prepared to send Spain international Rodrigo Moreno the other way.

Consequently, the Champions League qualifiers would be hoping to sell Simone Zaza first, although no clubs have come in with an offer close to the €18m they paid Juventus for the Italian last year.
