Iniesta: There was no offer from Man City

Spain international and former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta insists he had no offer from Manchester City regarding a move.

The 34-year-old joined Japanese club Vissel Kobe at the end of the season, ending a 22-year long stay at the Camp Nou but insists former boss Pep Guardiola was never in contact.

“I had no offer from City, Guardiola never called me,” Iniesta explained on Cadena Cope.

“I have seen reports in the media that there was contact, but honestly there was no conversation. I was leaving Barca to leave Europe, so that would have made no sense.

“I was lucky enough to be at an elite club where I was at my happiest, that makes me tremendously proud, but it was time to undertake another adventure.

“Griezmann? It is hard to say what his decision will be. He is clearly one of the best forwards in the world, but I do not know what will happen, if it will be Atletico or Barcelona.

“My international future? I do not want to close the door 100% after the World Cup but it is hard to see what lies beyond that for me.”
