Valencia deny deal for Wass

Valencia have denied they have an agreement in place to sign Celta Vigo midfielder Daniel Wass, following reports in the Spanish press.

Super Deporte stated that an agreement was in place for the Denmark international, who has a release clause of €25m at Estadio Balaidos.

“We have not signed him,” Valencia general manager Mateu Alemany told reporters.

“We have not even negotiated with him, neither with his agents, nor with Celta, today we are not negotiating. If Wass signs for us, you will know.”

Last month, Valencia-based radio programme 90 Minuts that a deal has been agreed between all parties with a reported €7m fee agreed for the player whose contract expires next June.

In May, the central midfielder hinted at a summer exit by stating: “I have been at Celta for three years and I can now see myself playing in the Champions League somewhere else.”

The 28-year-old has made 130 appearances at Celta following a 2015 moves from French club Evian, while he has previously stated he wants to retire at Brondby.
