Qatar have reportedly offered former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane a €200m contract to coach the country at the 2022 World Cup.
The claim was tweeted by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris and picked up Marca, AS and Mundo Deportivo among others.
Sawiris also wrote the Frenchman had been offered a four-year contact by the gulf state, although it is not made clear when the deal would start.
However, AS notes that contradicts plans for ex-Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez to train the host nation in four years’ time.
Zidane surprisingly stepped down as Madrid Coach on Thursday, barely a week after he guided Los Blancos to three straight Champions Leagues.
