Leganes have officially appointed former Alaves and Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino as their new Coach.
A statement on Leganes’ official website confirms Pellegrino has signed a one-year contract with the club.
The Argentine was most recently in charge of Southampton, who sacked him in March after a run of only one win in 17 games.
However, he impressed at Alaves the season before, guiding them to a ninth-place finish in La Liga and their first-ever Copa del Rey Final.
Nonetheless, he has big shoes to fill, his predecessor Asier Garitano – now at Real Sociedad – having taken Los Pepineros from Segunda B to the top flight in five seasons.
