Bacca ‘refound confidence’ at Villarreal

Carlos Bacca has revealed he ‘refound confidence and started enjoying football again’ after joining Villarreal on a loan deal last summer.

The Colombian striker is set to take part in this summer’s World Cup after netting 18 goals in 44 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, whom he joined on loan from Milan a year ago.

“Playing in the World Cup is one of my dreams a footballer,” Bacca is cited as telling reporters by Diario AS.

“That is why last summer I decided to change clubs to play more minutes, to gain more confidence and to start enjoying football again.

“Villarreal gave me all that I wanted, I regained my happiness there and now I am on the verge of being part of this tournament.

“Coming back to Spain, where I felt a lot of love before, after a season at Milan really was the right move for me.”
