In-demand Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz looks set to join Italian title challengers Napoli, according to reports.
Il Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Sevilla Info, state the Spaniard would be a ‘welcome present’ for Carlo Ancelotti, who was recently instilled as the new Coach at the Stadio San Paolo.
Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio had reported on Saturday that the 22-year-old was being monitored by a trio of high-ranking clubs, including the Naples-based club.
That report had also stated Atletico Madrid and Roma were in the frame for the midfielder.
Fabian renewed his contract at Los Verdiblancos until 2023 in January, reportedly hiking his release clause from a lowly €12m to a fee in excess of €35m.
The Betis youth product netted three goals in 34 Liga appearances this season as the club secured a top six finish and a return to European football.
