Girona boss Pablo Machin is reportedly set to become Sevilla’s next Coach – and could be replaced at Montilivi by Pep Guardiola’s long-serving assistant.
According to Marca, Machin has agreed a two-year contract with Sevilla, who will pay his €1m release clause on Monday.
The 43-year-old is considered one of Spain’s brightest young Coaches after guiding Girona to La Liga for the first time ever and keeping them up at the first attempt.
The newspaper adds Domenec Torrent is one of the favourites to replace Machin at the Catalan club.
Torrent has been Guardiola’s No 2 throughout his coaching career, their association starting as far back as when the City boss debuted with Barcelona B in 2007.
The 55-year-old is no stranger to Girona, having previously coached the side during the 2005-06 campaign.
