Sevilla eye Girona stopper

Sevilla could make a move for Girona goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, otherwise known as ‘Bono, in the summer market.

The 27-year-old Morocco international was a key figure in the Catalan club’s successful season, making 30 La Liga appearances, and a report by website Lions de l’Atlas claims the Andalusians are interested in bringing him to the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Bono’s contract runs out at the end of June and so far he has kept his options open and not held talks about a renewal.

However, Mundo Deportivo believe he wants his situation resolved one way or the other before he goes to the World Cup with his country.

Born in Montreal, Canada, the player moved to Morocco at an early age and spent his formative years with Wydad Casablanca, before moving to Atletico Madrid where he made 47 league starts for the B team.

A loan spell at Real Zaragoza followed and Bono joined Girona in July 2016, penning a two-year deal.
