New Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has put Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema at the top of his transfer list for the new season.
Reports in Spain suggest Ancelotti is believed to have asked Napoli chairman Aurelio di Laurentiis to pull out all the stops to recruit the Frenchman, given Benzema has endured what for him has been a disappointing season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Napoli finished second in Serie A last term and the club’s hierarchy want to build on that and challenge for the Scudetto next year.
Ancelotti is well aware of what Benzema has to offer, following their time together in Madrid, and it is no surprise he is on the new Coach’s list of priorities.
