Defender Juanfran said after Atletico Madrid’s victory over Marseille he believed Antoine Griezmann would still be at the club next season.
Questioned over whether or not the French striker would be wearing a Barcelona shirt next term, Juanfran insisted he was confident of the player staying.
“We love him very much and he deserves good things to happen to him,” the Spain international told BeIN Sports.
“I’m sure that next year we’ll still be together and in another final. These games are settled by small details and Griezmann’s goal roused us while they lowered their level.”
Juanfran dedicated the Europa League title to “all Los Rojiblancos who have suffered this season because they are people who deserve everything and always support us”.
“The last few years have been very good and we’ve won more finals than we’ve lost, so that’s wonderful and hopefully we can continue doing more,” he concluded.
