Arsenal should be considering Diego Simeone for the vacant manager’s role at the Emirates following Arsene Wenger’s departure.
That is the opinion of Frank Lampard after the Chelsea legend saw the Argentine steer Atletico Madrid to yet another trophy under his leadership, with a 3-0 Europa League final win over Marseille.
“I haven’t heard Simeone being linked too much with the posts that could be about to become available on these shores and I don’t know why,” Lampard told the Evening Standard.
“Arsenal would have benefited had they employed him because he’s a winner. He’d give any team what it needs in terms of discipline and working on the defensive unit.
“He’s done a fantastic job at Atletico. People might talk about the style of play, and it’s not like Manchester City, but it is effective.”
