Leganes may turn to Guti

Leganes could be set to turn to former Real Madrid player Guti in their search to replace Asier Garitano.

The former midfielder spent 15 years as a player in Madrid’s first team between 1995 and 2010, before retiring in 2012 after a short spell in Turkey with Besiktas.

The 41-year-old midfielder made almost 400 league appearances for Los Blancos and has managed the club’s Juvenil A side since 2013.

However, he has let it be known recently that he needs a bigger challenge at this stage of his career and Leganes are keen to talk to him, according to AS.

It was understood the intention was for him to move on to coach Madrid’s second string Castilla, but it now seems his idea is to work at a much higher level and Leganes could be ready to grant him his wish.
