Madrid ready Courtois bid

Real Madrid are ready to test Chelsea’s resolve to hang on to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois when the summer transfer window opens.

The Belgium international declared recently he would still be at Chelsea next season, although he has still to put pen to paper on a new contract, but a report in The Mirror claims Los Blancos are ready to take him back to Spain following his time with Atletico Madrid.

Madrid supremo Florentino Perez is understood to be keen to replace Keylor Navas, and having seemingly given up on trying to prise David de Gea away from Manchester United, he has now turned his sights to Courtois, who still has 12 months left on his current agreement at Stamford Bridge.

The Londoners have failed to qualify for the Champions League and the player is understood to look favourably on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, given his former partner lives in the Spanish capital with his son and daughter.
