Setien: Rotations ahead of derby

Quique Setien admits he may rotate for Real Betis’s trip to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday ahead of next week’s Seville derby.

Betis host Sevilla next week in the league’s penultimate match and Setien stated he wanted everyone to be in with a chance of selection.

“We want to have everyone available for the derby,” Setien told reporters in his pre-match press conference, as cited by Estadio Deportivo.

“We need to be wary of players who are a yellow card away from suspension or those carrying knows, but we want everyone to be in a position to play against Sevilla.

“It is not just because of this game because I always think about the future and what games are coming up, you cannot only allow yourself to think about the here and now.

“Being in fifth or sixth allows us to go straight to the Europa League group stages and unlike seventh, we would not have our summer cut short, so that is what we want.

“It was euphoric after beating Malaga and achieving our goal but the rest of the week has been normal, we are fully focused on winning at the San Mames.”
