Sevilla interim boss Joaquin Caparros has explained his side ‘have a lot of quality’ and just required more belief to start winning games.
Speaking after his debut produced a 1-0 home victory over Real Sociedad, the 62-year-old is confident Los Rojiblancos can finish the season strongly.
“The truth is this team have a lot of quality, they just need to believe it,” Caparros is cited as saying by Sevilla club media.
“They are really good, they have a lot of potential. Now we must aim to continue down this path, to keep giving everything in every game and that will give us a fighting chance.
“I'm grateful for the opportunity of taking over at this club and it must be said that they have given me the chance to manage my team.
“All the coaching staff are wanting to do their bit. Marchena, Gallardo… everyone. We've given every bit of information we can to the players.
“I'm happy with the three points. The players showed that attitude and fight we came in talking about. We have to thank them for the effort but above all the fans who were tremendous.”
