Guedes father wants Valencia stay

Goncalo Guedes should make his loan move to Valencia from Paris Saint-Germain permanent, according to his father.

The Portugal international has starred for Los Che this season while reports in France suggest PSG could sell the winger for €40m to meet their Financial Fair Play demands.

“I believe it is in everyone’s interest if Goncalo remains at Valencia,” his father Rodrigo told Tribuna Deportiva.

“His future does not belong in Paris due to the nature of the squad because he will be sitting on the bench and that is not what he needs.

“I believe he will stay at Valencia and continue improving…maybe he can stay for another year or two, be sold at a good financial level and then make an exit which benefits the club.

“We know Peter Lim (Valencia’s chairman) wants to sign him permanently and because they will play in the Champions League, I believe they can do it.

“He wishes to continue at the club but ultimately the decision may rest with PSG, but I want to make it clear my preference on his future.”
