Diego Simeone admits he does not know his starting line-up ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
Diego Costa is likely to miss the match through injury but, after having made a number of rotations in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Real Betis, the Argentine Coach admitted he had decisions to make.
“We are in good shape ahead of Thursday’s European match,” Simeone told reporters after Sunday’s draw, as cited by Diario AS.
“We made changes today to freshen up our team and the players responded very well – those rotations were made with our busy schedule in mind, and we need to stay fresh.
“It was important to give Vitolo, Fernando (Torres), Angel (Correa) and Saul more minutes because we need them to be sharp in match preparation.
“I have not yet decided upon who will start on Thursday or even what formation to play – I may play three at the back, but I have not made that choice.
“This was a competitive game with both teams creating chances but defensively we were good and that helped us to the 0-0.”
