Madrid’s Casemiro a PSG-target

Paris Saint-Germain are prioritising a transfer for Real Madrid holding midfielder Casemiro, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazilian international has become a mainstay of Madrid’s starting line-up, shielding the defence in a midfield three with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Diario AS states the Ligue 1 champions are keen to find a long-term successor to Thiago Motta and believe the former Sao Paulo player can be purchased for less than his €200m release clause.

The Parisian club’s sporting director Antero Henrique is said to be ‘a big admirer’ of the midfielder, whom he worked alongside during his stint with FC Porto in 2014/15.

The 26-year-old’s contract at the Bernabeu runs through until 2021 but a new deal may be proposed in the coming months.
