Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has reiterated he is ‘very happy’ at the club after renewing his contract this year.
The Spain international was linked with a move to Real Madrid, whom he starred against on Wednesday, but he appears to have no regrets over his decision to commit to the Basque giants.
“I tried to isolate myself from all the rumours, I renewed with Athletic and I am very happy,” Kepa told Cadena Cope.
“I felt pressure beforehand but not anymore, I’m totally focused on the club and hopefully that is reflected in my performances.
“We feel bittersweet after the (draw against Madrid) game, because it is a good result but we came so close to winning.
“We have a strong belief in the squad and we feel good.”
