Garitano set for Leganes stay

Leganes Coach Asier Garitano is expected to stay at the Madrid-based club beyond the end of the current campaign, suggest reports in Spain.

The 48-year-old has guided Lega to two promotions since taking charge in 2013, and stabilised their position in the top flight – currently in their second successive season in La Liga.

Garitano – a reported target for Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad – also guided Lega to the Copa del Rey semi-finals this season but has previously stated he will not renew his deal unless the club match his ambitions.

The club are set to invest more money into their first-team squad and infrastructure, with their Butarque stadium also set to be increased to a 16,000 capacity.

Such assurances are said to have won over the Coach, who looks set to renew his contract.
