‘Sevilla unlucky to lose 4-0’

Vincenzo Montella claims Sevilla were ‘unlucky’ to lose 4-0 to Celta Vigo as their opponents ‘didn’t have a shot at goal until we conceded’.

Montella’s Sevilla have now failed to win any of their four games since knocking Manchester United out of the Champions League, with three of them ending in defeats.

“We started the match well and until we conceded the first goal, Celta didn’t have a shot at goal. We didn’t have any luck,” the Coach said after the game, which saw Iago Aspas stun his former club with a hat-trick.

“We didn’t play well in the second half and we were overwhelmed by our opponents. It’s also not the first time that it’s happened to us.

“We didn’t know how to take advantage of the clear chances we had, although their goalkeeper was very successful.

“I’m concerned because we have some very important objectives ahead of us, like the match in Munich and the Copa del Rey Final, and we also have to ensure our presence in Europe next season. That forces us to fight until the end of the season.”
