Paco Lopez believes his Levante players ‘deserve a lot of credit’ for turning their season around after drawing with high-flying Girona.
Levante were without a win in 15 games and just one point above the relegation zone when Lopez was promoted at the start of March, but Saturday’s 1-1 draw moved the Valencians seven clear.
“We’re a little bit closer to our objective, and the feeling is that the team are growing thanks their hard work,” the Coach said after the game.
“I’d single out all the players. When I arrived, I wanted a team who were brave and could compete against anyone.
“On this occasion, we were so against a great team like Girona. What we’ve done deserves a lot of credit because it’s not easy to stifle them.
“I came into a very bad dynamic and knew it would be very difficult to change things, but we’ve managed to become a braver team. The change is evident.
“My future? I’m going to be clear: it doesn’t interest me at all right now. What matters is the history of this great club, and we must focus on working so that the team stay up.”
