Molina ‘couldn’t celebrate against Betis’

Getafe striker Jorge Molina insists he would ‘not be able’ to celebrate scoring a goal against his old club Real Betis when the two sides clash.

The decorated 35-year-old joined the Madrid-based club in 2016 after spending six years with Los Verdiblancos and the two will go head-to-head this matchday.

“There are lots of reasons why I couldn’t celebrate a goal against Betis,” Molina told ABC de Sevilla.

“Obviously this will be a very special match for me against a club who have a strong place in my heart, where the fans show me a lot of affection.

“I spent six years at Betis which give me a lot of happy memories so while I want to score against them, as I do every opponent, I would not be able to celebrate it…it would be impossible.

“We are both fighting for the same targets this season and both clubs are performing well, and it’s a very important game for both of us.”
