Iago Aspas insists he is ‘fighting’ for his place in the Spain squad for the summer World Cup after netting against Argentina.
The Celta Vigo striker now has four goals in eight international appearances after grabbing Spain’s fifth – along with two assists – from the bench on Tuesday night.
“I will continue to fight for my place in the World Cup, that is my dream,” Aspas is cited by saying in the mixed zone as the Spanish FA.
“We are happy at the moment as we showed a lot of desire and enthusiasm plus what we worked on came off.
“Being in the squad for now is already a reward and should I be among the final 23, I would be very happy of course.”
