Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed he will not be leaving the club this summer, despite links to Real Madrid.
The Belgian international’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in June 2019 and whilst he will not yet commit to a new deal, he has no plans of switching clubs this summer.
“I have one year remaining on my contract and I have good feelings here and I’m happy,” Courtois told Sporza.
“When the season ends we will sit down together and discuss the future but I feel that I am comfortable in knowing that I will be at Chelsea next season.
“My mind can now focus on Chelsea and during the World Cup I will be fully focused on my nation – I am proud of both sides and believe I can achieve success.
“Whether I sign a new deal in summer or wait for another year, we will see.”
