Atletico Madrid have joined the race to sign Argentine defender German Pezzella, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina from Real Betis.
The 26-year-old has starred in Serie A this season for La Viola, starting 25 league matches, with the club reportedly keen to exercise a €10m option to buy the defender in summer.
The Argentine international joined Los Verdiblancos from River Plate in 2015 for €2.5m but failed to impress Coach Quique Setien, who sanctioned his exit last year.
Diario AS cites interest from Atletico in the defender and draws upon a report in Fiorentinanews.com which states the Italian club are now wary they must act swiftly to complete the deal.
Inter and Zenit Saint Petersburg are among the clubs to have been linked to the central defender.
