Lionel Messi is being tipped to start for Argentina against Spain after all, although Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero will not.
AS reports Messi trained on Sunday, playing at the top of a diamond midfield, with Javier Mascherano, Giovani Lo Celso and Ever Banega behind him.
It comes just a day after the Barcelona star was said to be struggling with a hamstring strain and considered doubtful for the clash at Wanda Metropolitano.
However, Di Maria has returned to Paris Saint-Germain after contracting pain his right thigh during Argentina’s 2-0 win against Italy on Friday, while Aguero took a knock to his left knee.
