Valencia set to pay Kondogbia clause

Valencia will trigger their €25m option to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia permanently at the end of the season, say reports in Spain.

The 25-year-old is on a season-long loan deal with Los Che from Inter, with the non-compulsory clause inserted in the deal to give the club an option of a permanent move.

Last month the French midfielder insisted he would pay the clause himself, such was his desire to remain at the Mestalla and not return to the Serie A club.

Super Deporte now reports Valencia have informed the player they do intend to trigger the clause in a deal which looks likely to see Joao Cancelo move permanently in the opposite direction.
