Aaron Martin ‘happy’ at Espanyol

Espanyol defender Aaron Martin insists he is ‘happy’ at the club but left the door open to a potential transfer this summer.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Napoli have all been linked with the Spain youth international, who has started 27 La Liga matches this campaign.

“I do not know what will happen in summer, but now I'm happy here,” Martin is cited as saying by Marca.

“I don’t concern myself with what is being said in the media as I am happy at Espanyol, I don’t know the future but nobody does.

“The team are playing well currently and have a good dynamic, we have not lost in seven games and are approaching every game with positivity.”

In January, Diario Sport reported Los Periquitos rejected an €18m offer from RB Leipzig for the full-back, who is said to have a €30m release clause at the RCDE Stadium.

The 20-year-old left-back has enjoyed a sharp rise to prominence for the Catalan club and Spain’s Under-21 side.
