Valencia are not in a financial position to complete the permanent transfer of Paris Saint-Germain winger Goncalo Guedes, say reports in Spain.
It had been thought that should Los Che qualify for next season’s Champions League, they would be in a position to generate sufficient funds to facilitate a transfer.
However, a report in Marca states that any move ‘would not be economically viable’ and the only chance of the Portuguese international playing at the Mestalla next season would be a renewed loan deal.
Valencia sporting director Mateu Alemany is quoted as saying “there is no decision which depends on us,” but there are concerns the club will not be able to significantly reinvest funds this summer.
Guedes has been in sparkling form for the club since joining from PSG on a season-long loan deal.
