Report: PSG want Zidane to replace Emery

Paris Saint-Germain have ‘the dream’ of replacing current Coach Unai Emery with Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane in the near future, say reports in Spain.

The two clubs will go head-to-head again at the Parc des Princes in their Champions League last 16 tie on Saturday, with Los Blancos leading the tie 3-1 on aggregate.

There is great speculation surrounding the future of both tacticians, with former Valencia and Sevilla boss Emery’s job said to be ‘on the line’ should he not deliver European success this season.

Zidane’s future is also under increasing scrutiny due to an extremely underwhelming domestic campaign and he recently admitted to ‘being exhausted’ by the job.

The Frenchman has delivered back-to-back European titles during his time at the Bernabeu and PSG view him as the ideal candidate to replace Emery, according to Marca.

The report states PSG’s Qatari owners ‘have a dream’ of instilling Zidane at the helm and would make an approach should he depart Madrid.
