Fabio Coentrao wishes to remain at Sporting CP beyond the current season and make his loan move from Real Madrid permanent, say reports.
The 29-year-old joined the Lisbon-based giants on a season-long loan deal last summer and has made 18 league starts for Jorge Jesus’s side.
Marca cite reports in the Portuguese press that the former Benfica defender is keen on extending his stay with Los Leones, with negotiations already started for his renewal at the club.
Coentrao originally joined Madrid in 2011 but made only 43 La Liga starts for the European champions.
