Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez’s lack of minutes recently is due to a clause with Manchester City, according to reports in the Spanish press.
The 24-year-old spent two seasons at the English club before joining the Catalan giants in 2013, but City included a clause that for every 10 first-team appearances for Barca, they receive €800k.
Suarez has made 54 first-team appearances for Barca but has not featured in any of the last 12 outings and Diario Sport report it is due to the cost of the clause.
Ernesto Valverde reportedly blocked the midfielder’s exit in January but has surprisingly not selected him since, with an exit now looking increasingly likely.
