Moya ‘had no time for goodbyes’

Real Sociedad goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya has revealed he did not have time to say goodbye to his family following his transfer last month.

The 33-year-old joined La Real on an emergency deal from Atletico Madrid following Geronimo Rulli’s injury, having previously agreed to move to Getafe.

“I took the decision in less than 24 hours and because everything happened so quickly, I did not even have time to say goodbye to my family,” Moya told Cadena Cope.

“Initially I had agreed to move to Getafe, which would not have involved moving city but Vicente Guaita’s move to Crystal Palace did not happen as we expected it.

“I’m delighted with my start at the club, it has initially exceeded expectations and we have picked up some good results, we want to follow on this path.”
