Carrasco completes China move

Yannick Carrasco believes he can continue to improve as a player after completing his move to Chinese club Dalian Yifang.

The Belgian winger ended a 30-month stint at Atletico Madrid to complete his move to the Far East, but does not believe the move will impact his World Cup hopes.

“My ambition is to go to the World Cup and that remains intact,” Carrasco said, as cited by Marca.

“My distance from the continent of Europe does not impact my chances, and I must prove with my performances that I am ready to play with the Red Devils in Russia this summer.

“Spain and Atletico Madrid will always have a special place in my heart, I will miss the club immensely and I made unforgettable memories with them.

“I decided to leave to start a new adventure with Dalian Yifang and join the Wanda group, who are a partner of Atletico.

“The project convinced me and motivated me, the new infrastructures are modern and will allow me to improve as a player.

“Besides Hulk, Lavezzi, Capello and, of course, my friend Witsel, I will contribute to the development of football in a country that is passionate about this sport.”
