Zidane hopeful on Neymar return

Zinedine Zidane is hopeful Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar returns to action in time for the Champions League second leg against Real Madrid.

The Brazilian forward was stretchered off with an ankle injury during PSG’s 3-0 victory over Marseille on Sunday, leaving him in a race to be fit for next week’s clash.

“I want Neymar to return in time for our game,” Zidane told reporters during his Monday press conference.

“I never want to see any player injured and I hope he will be back in time to face us and recover from his injury.

“Our own injuries? There are no updates, all three are working hard to overcome their setbacks but none are back with the first team yet.

“Recent results? They are pleasing but they do not surprise me, our aim now is to continue our winning streak and maintain our level of performance.

“Sergio Ramos is our leader and he is our captain, and those who have expressed doubt about his position are those who lack respect.

“Everybody at the club has a lot of love for him.”
