Real Madrid are set to trigger the €4m return clause to re-sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Omar Mascarell, say reports in the Spanish press.
The 25-year-old – who made nine La Liga appearances for Los Blancos in the 2012/13 campaign – joined the Bundesliga club in July 2016 and has impressed in Germany.
The midfielder has also enjoyed stints at Derby County and Sporting Gijon, while Madrid want to re-sign him to give him minutes in pre-season this summer, according to Marca.
The plan is based on the fact that Madrid can either include the Tenerife-native in their first-team squad or sell him at a higher transfer fee.
Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim and Schalke are all said to be interested.
