Ronaldo: Madrid need away goals

Cristiano Ronaldo believes Real Madrid must ‘score more goals’ away to Paris Saint-Germain if they are to seal progression in the Champions League.

Los Blancos recorded a 3-1 home victory on Wednesday night, with Ronaldo netting a double, but the Portuguese insists the tie is far from over.

“We know the tie is not over yet,” Ronaldo told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“We have to go to Paris and score more goals, but we are calm and know we have what it takes to qualify for the next round of the competition.

“It was an important night for us, we started very strongly but it was a blow to let in the first goal, but we knew we had the experience to turn it around.

“It was great to get two late goals and we knew how dangerous PSG are with their forwards, so we needed to press to win the ball in good areas.

“Marcelo’s late goal was very important and his performance merited it – this was a special night for us but the work is not yet done.”
