Iniesta: These things happen…

Andres Iniesta brushed off Barcelona’s goalless draw with Getafe on Sunday as “these things happen.”

Not even Iniesta was able to break the Getafe force field as a second-half substitute, taking the place of Philippe Coutinho, and the midfielder acknowledged the difficulties Barca were placed under.

“I don’t think we lacked anything. We simply found it a bit difficult to find rhythm and continuity in our game,” he said after the match.

“Getafe are always an uncomfortable team to face and don’t leave any spaces for that continuity.

“They made it complicated for us and made it impossible for us to push on, although we did try towards the end.

“When a team sit back, it really reduces your chances of winning, but ultimately it’s up to us to play well, quickly and effectively to overcome these tactics.

“The next couple of months? There’s no doubt that these months will be tight, and we have obligations to fulfil on all fronts.

“You always try to make sure these things don’t happen like they did today, but hey… in the end, these things happen.

“We must analyse the game like we usually do and rest so we can compete again next weekend.”
