Atletico Madrid will attempt to sign Barcelona defender Aleix Vidal in the summer transfer window after no January move was agreed, say reports.
Sevilla, Roma and Napoli were all thought to have lodged offers for the full-back but no agreement was reached after Barca demanded €12m upfront.
Now Diario Sport report Atleti are in pole position to land the former Almeria player this summer as they continue their squad rebuilding process.
The 28-year-old initially joined the Blaugrana from Sevilla in the summer of 2015 for a €28m which included add-ons.
However, Vidal has failed to make an impact, starting only 14 La Liga games and has played second fiddle to Dani Alves, Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo.
