Sevilla miss out on Sturridge

Sevilla have missed out on the signing of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, who has instead joined West Bromwich Albion on loan.

Los Rojiblancos were among a group of clubs to be in the running for the England international, who has decided to remain in England ‘for family reasons’.

The 28-year-old, who is rated at €30m by the Merseyside club, will now join the struggling Baggies until the end of the campaign.

Sturridge was one of a host of strikers linked to the Andalucian club, with Sandro Ramirez of Everton and Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi among other names mentioned in relation to a move.
