Borussia Dortmund will trigger the €3m buyout clause of Barcelona’s teenage midfielder Sergio Gomez, according to reports in Spain.
The 17-year-old is set to sign a four-and-a-half year contract at the Bundesliga giants, who are said to have beaten Chelsea and Arsenal to the deal, say Marca.
Gomez will reportedly link up with the German club’s Under-19 side for the remainder of the campaign before being promised first-team football next season.
The highly-rated midfielder netted four goals and provided two assists during this season’s Under-17 World Cup in India – winning the silver ball after he was voted the second-best player at the tournament.
