Barcelona are reportedly on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Gremio midfielder Arthur.
According to Mundo Deportivo, both clubs could meet “in the next few hours”, with Barca’s South American representative Andre Cury in Brazil.
The newspaper explains personal terms have already been agreed and that only a transfer fee needs to be negotiated.
Barca would be hoping to buy the 22-year-old for €25m, but MD warns that may not be enough.
Therefore, it is possible Arthur will spend the rest of the season with the Copa Libertadores holders or be loaned out for the following campaign.
The latter is especially likely, given the Catalans already have three non-EU players on their books in Yerry Mina, Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho.
Nonetheless, the publication is confident Barca have beaten Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea to the starlet’s signature.
