The agent of Barcelona defender Aleix Vidal has confirmed his client is in talks with Roma despite previous links to Sevilla.

It was thought the full-back was set to return to the Andalucian club this month but his agent Graziano Battistini has stated the 28-year-old would ‘seriously consider’ a move to the Italian capital.

“Roma are Roma,” the former Verona goalkeeper told Romanews.eu.

“Vidal would seriously consider a concrete offer from Roma. There's continuous contact with Monchi, and we're in the opening stages of what can become negotiations.”

Vidal initially joined the Blaugrana from the Andalucian club in the summer of 2015 for a €28m which included add-ons.

However, Vidal has failed to make an impact, starting only 14 La Liga games and has played second fiddle to Dani Alves, Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo.
