Kepa to stay at Athletic?

Athletic Bilbao threw away the lead twice against Getafe, but the disappointment was quickly replaced by optimism about Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future.

Inaki Williams and Raul Garcia gave Athletic the lead twice on Friday, but they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw after Jorge Molina and Angel Rodriguez replied for Getafe.

However, the game was followed by a report in Marca, which suggested Kepa had grown tired of waiting for Real Madrid and would sign a new contract with Los Leones.

“We’ve had it up to here about Kepa’s future,” Williams told Radio Marca.

“We know the truth and it’s not what’s being said… I tease him about the Real Madrid thing.

“My goal a shot or cross? It was a shot, but I hit the ball with my ankle. Still, football has that bit of luck and I had it.”

The goalkeeper, 23, has not played since mid-December due to a foot injury.
