Rafinha’s father has confirmed that the Barcelona midfielder will join Inter. “He just wants to do what he loves at an excellent club.”
Inter are set to sign Rafinha on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for €35m plus €3m in bonuses, and Mazinho explained the reasons behind his son’s transfer.
“Rafinha wants to join Inter because he simply wants to play,” the former Brazil midfielder told Globo Esporte.
“It’s very difficult to get into the Barcelona side as there are so many players. He also had the bad luck of getting that knee injury over the last two years.
“He just wants to play, feel happy and do what he loves at an excellent club like Inter.” “Rafinha has a contract with Barcelona until 2020. We’re drawing up a pre-contract with Inter until 2021.”
The 24-year-old scored 11 goals in 79 appearances for Barca but has made just one substitute appearance this term after only just recovering from a serious knee injury.
