Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has apologised after being caught gesturing towards a Real Sociedad fan with his middle finger on Sunday.
The Blaugrana came from two goals down to record their first league victory at Anoeta in nine attempts but video replays caught the incident between the full-back and a fan of the home club.
“I was caught, no?” Alba queried to reporters when questioned if he had made the gesture, as cited by ESPN.
“If I offended anyone then I apologise. I'm like that on the pitch. They were saying all kind of things to me and I took it as part of the spectacle.
“I didn't mean to annoy anyone. If the person that offended me knew me, I am sure they would come to dinner with me.”
