Sevilla hope for Chelsea’s Carroll move

Sevilla’s hopes of landing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this month rely upon Chelsea completing a successful deal for Andy Carroll, say reports.

The Blues will move for the West Ham striker this week, according to a report in The Guardian, after failing to find the net in three consecutive matches.

Batshuayi joined Chelsea in 2016 but has failed to cement his place in the team, firstly as a deputy to Diego Costa before playing second fiddle to Alvaro Morata this season.

Last week, a report in El Desmarque outlined how Los Rojiblancos are keen to add to their striking firepower and provide further competition for Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel.

Then ESPN led reports in England that the English champions are open to a move this month as they seek to find a replacement in their squad.

The 24-year-old has started only three Premier League matches in two-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge.
